Bert Cornelis and Udhav Shinde

Description

Bert Cornelis and Pandit Udhav Shinde play a jugalbandi, a duet of classical Indian music with sitar and pakhawaj.

Pandit Udhav Apegaonkar Shinde (pakhawaj) is the son of the legendary Padmashree Bapu Apegaonkar. He is one of very few artists in the world to have mastered this ancient instrument. He is much applauded for his solo work as well as accompanying the greatest drupad masters. Last year, Udhav Shinde invited sitar player Bert Cornelis to Maharastra in India for a series of concerts. During this tour they played in the unique combination of sitar and pakhawaj. One concert was attended by 15 thousand spectators and relayed from Mumbai by Indian national media and television.

They now present their jugalbandi( duet) in Art Base, Brussels.
