Description
| These two artists are from different backgrounds but they share an absolute passion for their art. An Van de Vel is a skilled calligraphist, constantly on the lookout for new paths to trod on. Some years ago she started making diary notes and translating them into colours. Her collages are an intimate record of her daily life, but remain abstract to the eyes of the spectator. Stephane Ebner astonished us before with his drawings for 'Souffle', 'La nuit piano' and 'Les amants monotype', that were exhibited in the Danish Cultural Institute for the double show "Sleep Sleep", a collaboration with Art Base. His work as an illustrator of his own minimalist poems deserves a sequel in our gallery. Both An Van de Vel and Stephane Ebner explore the relationship between colour / image and text. Although hardly any text will figure in this exhibition, it is permanently present behind the curtains of their creation. |
