DescriptionSONE MIKAELIAN (FLUIT)
PANAGIOTA GIANNAKA (KLARINET) MAVROUDES DAKIS TROULLOS (FAGOT) When a trio is mentioned in a classical context, one most likely thinks of a piano trio, or perhaps a string trio – but what happens when you put a flute, a clarinet and a bassoon together? Over the past years, the three young musicians, Sone Mikaelian (flute), Panagiota Giannaka (clarinet) and Mavroudes Dakis Troullos (bassoon) have discovered some pearls in the realm of the classical trio repertoire. As curious musicians, they also like exploring lesser known music, which is how they stumbled upon a trio by Werner Josten, a German-born composer who emigrated to the US in the 1920’s. This trio is very rarely performed live, which makes this concert an exciting opportunity to let your ears dive into fresh sounds. Program: Beethoven’s trio in C major op. 87 Werner Josten’s Trio.
