Dúo Diez Cuerdas was formed in mid 2015. It features Giuliana Seguino (vocals) and Fernando Strasnoy (six & eight-string guitar), young artists of sound academic training. The Duet undertakes different types of Argentinian folk popular music. Its singular perspective enables them to commune with different genres through new versions. In their repertoire we can find songs that are part of the cultural history of the country like “Alfonsina y el Mar”, “Balada para un loco” or “Las Golondrinas”, as well as music that represents the sound of a particular region like “Amotuy, Soledad” by the Berbel brothers. Guitar and voice engage in dialogue with Cuchi Leguizamón, Manuel Castilla, Astor Piazzolla, Horacio Ferrer, Eduardo Falú, Jaime Dávalos, Carlos Gardel, Ariel Ramírez, Felix Luna, Atahualpa Yupanqui and Teresa Parodi among others. Dúo Diez Cuerdas has performed in different Buenos Aires venues among which we can single out National Radio Auditorium, “La Peña del Colorado”, “Circe” and the Argentine Jewish Mutual Association (AMIA) Auditorium. They also played in Villa Regina in the province of Rio Negro and in the Cervantino International Festival (Azul, Buenos Aires). They were featured in the television programme “Por la Vida”. They are currently developing their first DVD live recording and their first international tour that includes concerts in Madrid, Barcelona, Paris, Brussels, Rome and Bari.
