OLEANDO- Flamenco Frontiers

Description

-Antonio Garcia-Serna (Flamenco guitar)
-Javier Mateos Arévalo (Flute)
-Anouk Sanczuk (Violin)
-Federico Stocchi (Double Bass)
-Pablo Carmona di Bonno (Cajon)

Oleando was founded by Antonio Garcia - Garcia Serna (composition and flamenco guitar ) and Javier Mateos Arévalo (arrangements and flute), two old friends from Madrid. Their aim was to explore the borders between traditional Spanish folk music and Flamenco and melting them with a language inspired by 'new' music and jazz.
The group begin to take shape in Brussels, where Antonio and Javier meet again; during the first months their activity is a synergy between Antonio's bright inspiration and Javier's energy and dynamism.
After some months Pablo Carmona di Bonno (cajon flamenco), percussionist from Seville, joins the band. His limitless professional experience in the Flamenco world (he is one of the great Andalusian promises, with his project "La Bejazz") helps the group to have a new boost.
Federico Stocchi (double bass), just arrived from Milan, joins the party in 2012 adding to Oleando his jazz taste and giving a complete shape to the band.
After several months and concerts with Alfonso Guerrero Ortega, Spanish violinist that had to leave Belgium, in 2013 Oleando welcomes Anouk Sanczuk, a young belgian violinist
really experienced in folk music (she plays in two really 'hip' bands
not only in Belgium like "Broes" and "Ghent Folk Violin Project" ).
