Teresa Heidel: Violin Emmanuel Tondus: Cello Damien Bossy: Piano
Teresa Heidel (violin) and Emmanuel Tondus (cello), both members of the Brussels Philharmonic, join the pianist Damien Bossy to play the two first piano trios of Johannes Brahms. The first one, in B major, op. 8, is a juvenile piece revisited by Brahms 37 years later. During this time, he composed the second trio, in C major, op. 87: together they form two masterpieces of chamber music repertoire. Although different, they have their stature in common, as well as their thematic richness and the flexible and concertante composing.
« In chamber music domain, Brahms, the first after Beethoven, found a particular balance between inspiration and science. » C. Rostand
