HOSOO & TRANSMONGOLIA- Throat singing & strings

Description

Transmongolia are four musicians from Mongolia who perform khoomii singing(also known as overtone or throat singing) from the open steppes and high Altai mountains of Mongolia, accompanied by morin khuur (horse head fiddle) and other Mongolian musical instruments. "The wind blows, hoofbeats resound and the steppe awakes.
A musical journey to the immensely vast grassland where people and camels weep together.
Hosoo & Transmongolia gives nature a voice and brings the expanse of
the steppe to the concert hall".

Hosoo is a master of khoomei or throat singing.
The specificity of this technique is that the singer simultaneously produces two notes:
a long-drawn buzzing tone, over which the melody rises to great heights.
It can create as many as three-part harmonies.
Hosoo was awarded the title of "Best Mongolian Singer" in Ulan Bator.

D. Khosbayar (Hosoo), A. Nyamdorj (Amraa)
M. Gaasuren (Shagai), U. Dashdemberel (Dash)
