KEES VAN BOXTEL - BANSURI SHABBIR HUSSAIN – TABLA Himanshu Nanda is an Indian flautist with a great technique. He was born in Odishu, where he studied bansuri in Shri Narenda Panda. And Shri Padma Charan Patra received a recognition for his unique talent which evolved in receiving a study by the legendary Bansuri- maestro Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia. Himanshu is known as a senior disciplinary with his unique meditative play and speedy tongue technique. He has become this talented guru and shared his talents and unique skills in diverse performing events. Himanshi has graduated from his studies, Sangeet Visharad has accomplished a Master degree in Music. He toured in India, Kenya, South Africa, Singapore, France, Indonesia, United Arab of Emirates, Bahrain, Japan, and he soon, for the first time, will perform in the Netherlands. Himanshu is the brain behind the unique music workshop titled “MQ2 HQ” (Musical Quotiënt 2 Happiness Quotient), and creates a 360° experience in music, rhythm, and meditation. This workshop has brought satisfactory to 12000 persons, and Himanshu Nanda is aiming to continue sharing the humble tradition and talents from his guru, and bring to the listeners a high level of awareness by emphasising more on the “silence” behind the music. Himanshu will be accompanied by Kees van Boxtel on Bansuri and Shabbir Hussain on Tabla Shabbir Hussain is one of the youngest talented Tabla players of today. He is born in 1981 in the family of Ustad Hidayat Khan Ustad Rehman Khan of Sikar. Shabbir is from the 5the generation tabla players and played at a young age already with great Indian classical artists. Kees van Boxtel started to study Indian Classical music about 15 years ago. As a silver flute player he heard on his first trip to India the Bansuri ( Indian Bamboe flute) and his love for this magical instrument was born. At the Rotterdam Concervatorium he followed lessons with Julia Ohrmann, a virtuose bansuri-speler. After that he has traveled several times to India to learn from Himanshu Nanda, he learned from bansuri-master pandit Hari Prasad Chaurasia the fine technics. The Hindustanic music-firmament of raga en tala, with all his glidings and ornamentations, He has studied under the leadership of pandit Alok Lahiri.
