YOURI BLOW is a singer-composer inspired by the old Delta Blues of the 30's, the blues of Son House, Skip James, Blind Willie Johnson and many others. He also absorbed songs and traditional music from countries as diverse as Japan, Mongolia, Turkey and Peru. With these rich sources, Youri shows in his music the union between heaven and earth, dream and reality. In his first album "Moon Rock My Soul", Youri presented his guitar playing, blended in a subtle sound universe inviting us on a journey. Since that recording in 2008, Youri has undertaken two years of interior exploration, two years of solitude necessary to strengthen his own very personal musical style: Psycheblues. This solitude was enriched with an initiatory trip to Mongolia where he lived with the Tsaatane tribe. The result is his recording of a new album "The Corridor"; a long tunnel of introspection opening out into light and also deliberately playing on opposites. Youri successfully produces a clear, almost religious sound, like in the title song of the album, just as easily as he offers a raucous voice, plumbing the depths of "Strange History". www.youri-blow.com ***** www.myspace.com/youriblow *****
