Fabrice De Graef is one of the rare European musicians specalized in the basuri, the Indian bamboo flute. He started his musical interest with the bombarde, a traditional instrument in Bretagne, then finished the Valenciennes Conservatory with hobo. After this a long voyage started in traditional music, with Irish, Breton and Indian experiences. He stayed with Indian music after having received a state bursary to study with Hariprasad Chaurasia and L. Subramamiam. He lived for 8 years in India. Fabrice De Graef played with groups as 'Future Man'( Bela Fleck, Black Mozart), Soig Siberil( his own group), and in 'Nashaceltic' with Alain Genty and Jacques Pellen.
Carlo Strazzante studied percussion with several teachers from India and oriental percussion with iranian master Madjid Khaladj. Over the years, he played with musicians belonging to the classical indian music tradition amongst whom Asad Qizilbash (sarod), Gopal Krishnan (sitar), Sandip Chatterjee (santoor) and Sandip Gosh (tabla). At this concert he will be playing a combination of the Indian tabla and the African udu, a terra cotta base drum from Nigeria.
