MON AREEJ, Israel-Palestine

Description

Mon Areej is an indie-folk trio based in Haifa, Israel.

Since releasing their debut EP album in 2015 (link below) featuring their original songs in Arabic and Hebrew, Mon Areej (previously known as “Illegal Siblings”) have attracted much attention in the local music scene, receiving numerous invitations to perform around Israel and in Europe, and have received a national funding to boost their artistic endeavors.

Their music is a blend of traditional western songwriting and Middle Eastern influences, with full-hearted lyrics sung by Khateeb’s deep, angelic voice and fresh sounding arrangements based on Alush’s acoustic guitar, Klein’s electro-acoustic cello and their voices.

Mon Areej are presently touring Israel and preparing for the release of two new singles that will be the opening shot to their first European tour, this autumn.
