Fleur Inverse is a collaboration between countertenor Claudio Girard and double-bass player Axel Gilain, exploring the interrelation of Early and Baroque music with jazz and improvisation.
In performing the music of Claudio Monteverdi, Henry Purcell, Hildegard Von Bingen, Giulio Caccini and John Coltrane, Fleur Inverse re-imagines this repertoire as if it had been written today, shifting the perspective of the performer and thus allowing a new expressive context to emerge.
Fleur Inverse re-evaluates the notion of tradition, revealing exciting new grounds for music and story-telling.
