DescriptionVictor Kissine (1953, Saint-Petersburg) graduated and received a PhD from
Saint-Petersburg Conservatory. Since 1990 settled in Belgium. Works for orchestra, concertos, for chamber ensembles, soloists, two operas, ballets, film scores. Premiéres: San Francisco Symphony (under the direction of Michael Tilson Thomas), New World Symphony, Berlin Komische Oper, St-Petersbourg Philarmonic, Dusseldorf Philharmonic, RAI National Symphony Orchestra, Jena Philharmonic, National Orchestra of Belgium (conducted by Andrey Boreyko), ensembles Musiques Nouvelles (monographic CD), Oxalys, L'Itinéraire, Chamber Society of the Lincoln Center, the festivals of Salzburg, Lockenhaus (twice composer-in-residence), Ars Musica, Musica, La Jolla, Music Mountain, ISCM World Days, the Queen Elisabeth Competition 2012. Since 2001, frequent collaboration with Gidon Kremer and Kremerata Baltica (three disks at ECM). Awarded the Tokyo Irino Prize Foundation (1995), the Académie de Lutèc (1993), the Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik (2011). Member of the Royal Academy of Belgium.
