Hoppy Kamiyama fait partie de ces musiciens qui ont fait des champs
d'expérimentations leur terrain de jeu. Se référant à Xenakis, Kagel,
Berio et Stockhausen, il a su créer un langage musical original qui a bâti
des ponts entre les esthétiques. Compagnon de route de musiciens comme
Bill Laswell, Marc Ribot ou Damo Suzuki, et l'un des principaux artisans
de la scène alternative tokyoïte des années 80, il fonde, en 1993, le
label God Mountain, qui sera tourné essentiellement sur ses productions.
Du quatuor à cordes à l'expérimentation électronique, Hoppy Kamiyama a
tracé un sillon particulier qui fait de lui un musicien loin des normes.
Le concert, qu'il propose dans le cadre des Musiclub d'Ars Musica, explore
le piano sous toutes ses formes, arpentant le moindre son, d'un
minimalisme constructif.
It's hard to say which is the greatest and most influential recording by
the man who invented the modern concept of the
keyboardist/composer/producer for many kind of fields, even film, TVCM,
and experimental music.
and Hoppy has made about 200 CDs over including a couple of own solo
albums, a nearly 38 years career.
The man doesn't seem to sleep, spending all his energies running his label
called God Mountain, producing networking, and playing in countless bands
with borderless attitude.
His a hard working guy but there's also a fun crazy side to him as well.
