DescriptionKacper Nowak (°1987) started playing cello at the age of 8. Since then he studied with many renowned teachers, such as D. Poskin (Royal Conservatory of Brussels), J. Grimm (Royal Conservatory of Antwerp), M. Kliegel (Cologne). He is a laureate of many national and international competitions, and in 2015 he wins the third price in the prestigious Johannes Brahms Competition.
He is currently studying with Gary Hoffman at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel. Jan Debel (°1989) started playing piano at the age of 8. Already at a young age he gets in contact with jazz and improvisational music, and therefore entered the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp in 2007 to study with C. Erbstösser and E. Vermeulen. After having played at many different venues (such as Jazz Middelheim, Gent Jazz, ...), he decided to make a radical career change and inscribed himself at the Classical departement in Antwerp. There he studied with L. Kende, H. Hendrickx and N. Kende. These two fine musicians met 5 years ago while both studying at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp. After having spend some time on pianotrio repertoire - with concerts at 'Klara in deSingel' amongst other venues - they gradually started digging into the repertoire for cello and piano. For this concert they focus on the Arpeggione sonata by F. Schubert and the sonata by D. Shostakovich, next to some cello virtuoso pieces. A program which ranges from very intimate colours to the cynical and by times rather harsh approach by Shostakovich. http://musicchapel.org/kacper-nowak-cello/ https://soundcloud.com/jan-debel EventList powered by schlu.net |
