DescriptionIn Greece the ‘periptero’ is the kiosque at the streetcorner, where you will find anything, any time. You’ll find a lot too in this music kiosque called ‘Periptero’: bouzoukis, uds, guitar, accordion baglamas, and much good spirit. Next to rebetiko songs, singer Effie Koulouris also presents songs of traditional Greek music. This ensemble, or friends united in music, usually plays around a good meal and a fine bottle of wine: what they play is in the end tavern music. During their concerts they offer the public a good occasion to discover- or rediscover- the Greek city music, stretching from the early 20th century until after 1945. Stéphane Coutsoloucas : bouzouki, Jean-Baptiste Garancher : bouzouki, baglama, percussions, voice, Pierre Guidi : accordion, vocals, Gwenaël Le Bras : oud, bouzouki, baglama, voice, Effie Koulouris : voice, bouzouki, Laurent Roman oud, percussions, tin whistle, vocals, Thanassis Thomopoulos : bouzouki, percussions, Yannis Tsigiannis : guitar, vocals.
