‘MODERN COLORS’ - Debussy, Connesson, Piazzola, Schostakovitch

Description

EMMANUEL TONDUS, CELLO
DAMIEN BOSSY, PIANO

Damien and Emmanuel met each other when they were studying at the Conservatoire Royal in Mons, Belgium. Their common passion for Chamber music, particularly the repertoire for cello and piano, will soon lead them to work together. Through their collaboration, they will improve their skills by attending Nina Patarcec’s master classes at the Ecole Normale Alfred Cortot in Paris and by following the enlightened advice of numerous talented teachers, among which Rosella Clini, David Cohen, Hélène Dautry, Maestro Nelson Delle-Vigne Fabbri,…

Damien et Emmanuel regularly perform in concert : Piano Maene (Brussels), Festival « Gerpina Musica » (Gerpinnes), Centre Culturel de Hannut, Cellule 133a (Brussels), Art Base (Brussels), Festival « Côté Cours et Côté Jardin » (Mons), festival « Les Sons Intensifs » (Lessines), Salle Alfred Cortot (Paris), etc.
They have recorded a cd round works by Beethoven, Brahms and Schostakovitch. Three huge composers, three different periods of time… A large variety of styles and atmosphere in order to seal their collaboration and their common desire to deepen the broad repertoire for cello and piano.

Their common musical language and their strong will to respect the text
result in a homogeneous ensemble at the service of music.

Program:

Claude Debussy, sonata in D minor for cello and piano
Guillaume Connesson, Les Chants de l’Agartha
Astor Piazzola, Le Grand Tango
Dmitri Schostakovitch, Sonata in D minor op 40 for cello and piano
(The order may change…)
