DescriptionA concert of XXth century piano music, to pay homage to Dutilleux - who would be 100 years this month.
Works by Dutilleux, Debussy, Bartók, Scriabin, Jolivet. Thibaut Surugue, born in 1986 in France, performs regularly as a soloist and in chamber music in Europe as well as America, in prestigious venues like the Grand Palais in Paris, Flagey in Brussels, the Mendelssohn-Haus in Leipzig, or the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Liège. He was invited as a soloist by the Symphonic Orchestras of Boulogne-Billancourt and Pilsen Conservatories, and by the Royal Band of the Belgian Guides. He takes part in the creation and the interpretation of many contemporary works, playing notably with the Ensemble Acouphène and the Ensemble 2e2m. Trained at the Conservatories of Limoges and Boulogne-Billancourt, he obtained First Prizes in piano from both schools with unanimously the best grade and with congratulations of the jury. Then he received his Bachelor of Piano Performance (Conservatory of Paris, class of Hortense Cartier-Bresson), his Bachelor of Musicology (Sorbonne), and certificates in harmony, counterpoint, fugue, keyboard harmony and figured bass (Conservatory of Issy-les-Moulineaux, class of Isabelle Duha). After one year at the Hochschule für Musik in Leipzig alongside Markus Tomas, he entered the Master programm at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels in Jan Michiels’ class, with whom he is currently studying.
