The seminar will focus on the rhythm of 10/8 that is common in Armenia, Turkey and other places of the region of Middle East and Asia. Being at the same time one of the most common rhythms in ottoman music, curcuna can be approached both through classical repertoire and through traditional tunes. At the seminar, we will approach the rhythm mostly through contemporary compositions, written by the members of "Neda". This choice will be useful to work also on the idea of composing on curcuna, as a rhytmical basis on which anyone wants can put his/her own music ideas on this old rhythm.
