Sandip Ghosh started his career as a student under the tutelage of Pt.Gobindo Bose for nine years. He then came in touch with Pt. Anindo Chatterjee and expanded his knowledge and technical skill under his guidance. He specialized in the style of "Farukhabad" gharana and also gained extensive knowledge of all other gharanas under the guidance of Pt.Anindo Chatterjee, like the "Sweet Melodious Sound" and "Taiyari". Sandip Ghosh is a 1st class "M.A." in "Music" from the Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata and he is a graded artist of "All India Radio" & "Doordarshan". He has played all over the world and accompanied many great artists, as Ustad Aashish Khan, Pt. Hari Prasad Chaurasia, Pt. Ramesh Mishra, etc. Sandip Ghosh has been awarded many times. The President's Award,Academy Puroskar, Rajya Sangeet Academy, and Dover Lane Music Conference are some of the awards he has in his possession. He is proclaimed a "National Scholar" and was twice "Gold Medalist" in the "South Asian Universities Festival".
