The concert will be an session of Indian classical music on the Sarod by Debanjan Bhattacharjee with Subrata Manna on the Tabla.
The concert will be based on the performance of traditional classical and semiclassical Ragas on the Sarod.
The Sarod is an ancient Indian lute, owing its origin to Central Asia, where as the Tabla is a traditional form of Indian percussion. Together, the Sarod and the Tabla shall establish a musical communication between them, resulting in a Jugalbandi or togetherness.
The concert will be begin with an Alap / introduction of the Raga, without any rhythm. It will be followed by various compositions, spontaneously improvised in slow, medium and fast tempo.The name of the Ragas shall be announced during the concert.
