Johnny Frateschi (bass) Carol Andrade was born in São Paulo. After flirting with the blues and the jazz, she developed a project dedicated to the MPB (Música Popular Brasileira), in a voice & guitar set-up, doing concerts along several years in bars in São Paulo and in corporative events as well. 2001 was the year of the debut of her concert "Falando de Tom" ("Talking about Tom", the famous Antonio Carlos Jobim). In this concert, the life and art of the beloved "maestro soberano" was presented by the singer. From 2004 to 2007, she participated in various music festivals, winningimportant awards like "best singer“ at the Corumbataí and Queluz Festivals. The year 2005 was a milestone on Carol`s carrier, because this year was marked by the release of her first record "Vida Adentro", with the majority of the songs composed by herself and arranged by Alex Maia, the tracks were all executed in a minimalist set-up, with voice and guitar. In 2009 the show "Outras Mulheres" debuted in São Paulo, honoring the Brazilian women composers, this show brought not only interpretations of great songs of other composers but also previously unreleased own written songs. As this concert was a great success, Carol Andrade decided to record these songs in an album called "Outras Mulheres", which was released in July 2013. www.carolandrade.art.br EventList powered by schlu.net |
