DescriptionBorn in the family of music lovers, Manish Pingle was introduced to Indian classical music by his mother. Manish experimented with altering the string arrangements and varying his playing techniques. Manish developed a unique right hand picking style, blending it with powerful left hand slides. His mastery over the development of a Raga and the intricacies of Taal comes from the years he spent studying with his Guru, the sitar maestro, Ustad Shahid Parvez.
Manish is an approved artist of All India Radio and Television.He has won many accolades performing Solos, Duets and Fusion concerts, collaborating with fellow musicians from India and abroad. Manish has recorded for several music albums, one of which is ‘IN THE HOUSE OF MIRRORS’ with the French Music composer Hector Zazou. Manish has also collaborated with the Saxophone Maestro George Brooks, famous blues musician Michael Messer and performed with them on many occasions Manish has collaborated with The Frementle orchestra, Perth, and h at the City of Canning Festival 2014. Manish is a highly qualified sound engineer from the prestigious film school of India, FTII, Pune. With his knowledge of sound and music, Manish is frequently invited to film schools to conduct workshops. Manish has also worked on various feature films and documentary projects as a sound designer. Arup Sen Gupta is a disciple of Sri Subhen Chatterjee, an illustrious Tabla player from Kolkata and the seniormost disciple of Pandit Swapan Chaudhuri, the world famous Tabla maestro. Arup also gets additional training from Pandit Swapan Chaudhuri- the torch bearer of the Lucknow-Gharana (school of playing).
