The Spanish guitarist Raúl Corredor created a new group with Spanish and Belgian artists deeply involved in contemporary flamenco.
This group offers new blood to the young Andalusian flamenco, a contemporary flamenco sound that doesn't hesitate to integrate new sounds and new instruments.
The magic of the show 'Cinco maneras de ausencia' originates from the simplicity and purity of its repertoire, with ancient, almost forgotten flamenco songs like the soleá apolá, the malagueñas and the caña, interpreted from a new angle, ie from modern flamenco.
Raúl Corredor Quintet goes farther than just challenging the rules. Since art is not static but in continuous evolution, we witness a program that is more jazzy and more contemporary.
And it works. It works because the important element in its music, where even silence provoques emotion, is feeling.
And feeling will never be a fashion, and it will never be false.
