Deepsankar Bhattacharjee is a young sitarist born in the year 1986. He is the 5th generation of sitar players in his musical family.
Deepsankar started his musical career from his tender age under the guidance of his Father Pandit Hara Shankar Bhattacharya and also receiving lessons from his dadaguru Padmabhusahan Ustad Abdul Halim Jaffer Khan Sahab.
He is the torch bearer of Jafferkhani Bazz (Indore Gharana).
His mother Smt.Parul Bhattacharya was the Disciple of Late Pandit A.T.Kanan.
Deepsankar performed at various concerts in India and abroad including
New York, Switzerland, Germany, Holland etc.

Deepsankar acquired the Gold Medal from Sarbobharatio Sangeeto-o-Parisad,
Gold medal from Vadic Heritage(New York), Gold Medal From Baba Harballav Music Competition,
he stood first in AIR music competition, he received the  Ravi Kopikar Memorial Award,
the Pt.Visnu Digambar Palushkar Award  etc.
Deepsankar comes in the fifth generation of sitarist in his family.
His grandfather, mother and father were musicians (sitarist).
