Event
DescriptionThe Mow Quartet is a Brussels-based female band that might seem classical at first, but it is far from that once you listen to them in person. They can play a Haydn quartet and then grab different instruments like a ukulele, a cajon, and a flute and interpret an unheard version of an old Romanian folk song. Thanks to their rich cultural and musical background, they not only arrange known songs in their own manner, but they compose their own music as well. Their influences go from classical and folk to instrumental-rock or even slam. Their lyrics are engaging, their communication with the public is warm, and their love for music breaks through in every single song. A quartet that found its own creative path and that we will hear of in the coming years.
PROGRAM: Original compositions in English, Spanish, French, Romanian, and Czech; as well as original arrangements of old folk songs by different artists, ranging from Rhiannon Giddens to Tom Waits or John Downland. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UYHXLVpuj30 EventList powered by schlu.net |
