Since Medieval period the woman who wanted to think out of the box, to be indepedent and to learn about different topics, including medicin / science / nature, was considered a witch - a powered woman very dangerous for the Catholic and traditional society until the 19th century, where the last execution of the Inquisition was in Spain in 1826.
