DescriptionBased in Brussels, the Early Music ensemble Les Alchimistes born from the necessity to create a musical laboratory to explore the theory and practice of the art of improvisation and ornamentation in the Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque periods.
The Historically Informed Practice is the base of this project, supported by treatises and historical sources, plus the individual and collective search of the best and most beautiful sound provided by each musician, to find something new, special and peculiar. For this concert the ensemble presents a program focused on the Franco-Flemish school based in the Low Countries between around 1520-1560 with composers such as Adrian Willaert, Orlando de Lassus, Josquin des Prez, among others, wich presents Italian influence style in their Motets, Madrigals, Fantasias and Chansons.
